Leaves: Leaves simple. Opposite. Margins entire. Petioles short, intra- and interpetiolar glands present. Stipules absent.

Flowers: Flowers axillary, solitary or paired. Flowers bisexual (perfect). Calyx of 5 sepals, lobes lanceolate to subulate. Corolla of 5 petals, salverform. Stamens 5, inserted on the corolla tube in the inflated portion near the mouth, but not exserted. Ovary superior, distinct, cylindrical.

Fruit: Fruit of 2 follicles. Seeds ca. 8; oblong to ellipsoid.
