Leaves: simple alternate blade elongate and narrowly lanceolate, 23-27 cm x 3.5-45 cm acuminate sparsely hairy beneath the nerves and irregularly along the surface arcuate nerves, confluent at the margin

Flowers: Flowers axillary sepals connate, tube adnate to ovary 5-lobed stamens connate; anthers with apical tufts of white hairs; stamens 5, alternate with corolla lobes; anthers dithecal, opening by longitudinal slits, coherent but separating after anthesis or connate and forming a tube into which pollen is shed; filaments ovary inferior, 2-celled; stigma 2-lobed

Fruit: Fruit a berry Seeds numerous; small; smooth and shiny; with a straight; short to spatulate dicotyledonous embryo embedded in oily endosperm.
