1 Coccoloba pubescens L. Waimea Arboretum, acc. # 84p47. Material originally received from Dr. Juan A. Rivero, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, 3 Feb 1984. Collected from Tanama River area, back of Arecibo Observatory. Soil in the area of coral origin (calcareous). The species grows on pure rock in both exposed and shaded areas. The species can be grown in a tight bound pot, even under bonsai conditions, and the leaves may attain a size of 3 ft, a situation that seldom occurs in big trees. PRESERVED_SPECIMEN Orr, D. s.n.
