Fruit:
Berries; sometimes somewhat dry.
Seeds with a conspicuous abaxial chalazal knot and 2 deep adaxial grooves; 1 on each side of the raphe; endosperm copious; usually 3–lobed; ruminate; oily; and proteinaceous.
